Alternative pop artist Livingston made a stop in Boston on his The Story Continues Tour with opening support from fellow upcoming artist, Braden Bales.
BRADEN BALES
You may know Braden Bales for his song “CHRONICALLY CAUTIOUS” that went viral on social media’s TikTok circa 2023. He is well-liked for his raw and relatable lyrics surrounding relationships, love, and overall insecurities that we all experience in life. Bales also has the incredible ability to put music out quickly and efficiently.

You can often find him on Instagram and TikTok openly sharing his thought process and the way he generates his tracks through fun and creative short clips and reels. Recently, he released his newest single, “YOU LIED,” pertaining to a recent breakup he went through. The vulnerability in his music mixed with the energy in his voice and backtracks leaves listeners and fans hitting repeat!

At the show, Bales opened his set with a quirky intro about the city of Boston. The power of his vocals echoed across the venue as he belted songs including “ROI,” “ASHED US OUT,” “HOSTAGE,” and “ME MYSELF & YOU.” During his performance of “YOU LIED,” his guitarist, Jake, whipped out a blonde bob wig to play the role of the girl Braden is singing to in the song. Fans also got an extra surprise per request with a song not on the original set list, “CINNAMON TWISTS.” This track digs deep into the uncertainties and rollercoaster motions that life moves us through as we navigate it. Bales ended his set with his biggest hit, with over 48 million streams on Spotify mentioned earlier, “CHRONICALLY CAUTIOUS.”
LIVINGSTON
Texas native, Livingston, also known as Drake John Livingston Jr., began his musical career covering popular pop songs by artists like Lewis Capaldi and Maroon 5 on platforms including TikTok and YouTube. After releasing his first original track “Fairytale” in 2020, he quickly gained popularity, amassing millions of listeners. Livingston released two albums in the early 2020s including Lighthouse and An Unlikely Origin Story. Fast forward to 2024, he released his third album, A Hometown Odyssey, quickly followed by an extension A Hometown Odyssey (The Story Continues), this year.

Livingston brought his high-energy and empowering presence to the stage as fans eagerly welcomed him with big cheers. He opened with tracks off his most recent album including “Half Life,” “Surprise!,” and “Warrior.” During his performance of “Neon,” the crowd held up big neon green hearts as part of a fan project collaborated by a mom and her children. In fact, the venue was filled with many young fans!

A group of four elementary-aged boys could be seen jumping around yelling, “We are your biggest fans.” Livingston expressed his gratitude to the crowd for making him feel so special and his ability to do this as his career. You could feel the love in the room. The night came to a close with an encore featuring “Shadow” and “Godspeed.”
