Alternative indie pop group, almost monday, brought the California sunshine to Boston during their opening performance. Members Dawson Daugherty (vocals), Luke Fabry (guitar) and Cole Clisby (guitar) took the stage with support from touring drummer, Rafael Vidal who also accompanied them on their DIVE Tour earlier this year. The boys opened with “cough drops”, a single that they put out back in 2022, feeling right for Bostonians as the winter weather has started rolling in. Additionally the crowd got to hear some tracks off of their newest album DIVE(deluxe), including those that had been dropped as singles prior, like “is it too late?”, “can’t slow down”, “life goes by”. Daugherty kept the energy in the room at a high as he showed off his signature moves including side flips, spins, and funky dance moves. Fans enjoyed swaying along to the infectious beats, emulating the feeling of a sunny summer day, hanging out with close friends and enjoying the freedom of youth and young love. There was not a bad vibe present.

The Band CAMINO

You know them, you love them, you can’t help but rock out to their music…enter The Band CAMINO to the stage! The indie rock trio consists of members Jeffery Jordan (vocals/guitar), Spencer Stewart (vocals/guitar) and Garrison Burgess (drums).

The boys opened their set with an oldie, but goodie that was released back in 2019, “Daphne Blue”. A few songs later during “I Think I Like You”, the crowd’s singing echoed across the three-story venue to the dancey feel-good beat. Vocalist, Jordan, said “...there is something about a Boston crowd…Boston has passion”. He also mentioned that the MGM Music Hall was the biggest stop on their Always Never Tour, eliciting cheers from the room. One thing about The Band CAMINO that keeps the show exciting is the alteration between Jordan and Stewart as the vocals, keyboard and guitar. The boys swap out throughout the performance, showing off their multi-talented skill sets.

During the middle of the set, we got a more intimate vibe as the band set up in a semicircle and pulled out acoustic guitars in the warm glow of the stage lights. Here they performed two of their slower songs, “Berenstein” and “Hates Me Yet (222)”, as well as a cover of Justin Bieber’s “DAISIES”. The crowd lit up the room with colorful pieces of paper placed over their phone flashlights.

A major highlight for fans was the performance of an unreleased song that the boys put out on TikTok years ago, “Afterthought”. They mentioned that they “may or may not”  be recording it and have plans for it in the future. Guess we will have to wait and see!

In the meantime, check out their newest album, NeverAlways, and their newest single, “12:34”, or catch them at one of their remaining shows on this tour.
