The Aces: Gold Star Baby World Tour Takes Over Boston

Alternative pop group, The Aces, made a stop at Royale in Boston as they make their way across the US on the Gold Star Baby World Tour. Members Alisa and Crystal Ramirez, Katie Henderson and McKenna (Ken) Petty put on a stellar performance with opening act support from artist Lydia Night. 

The band just released a new album, Gold Star Baby, this year, so naturally the crowd was expecting to hear some of these tracks live! However, we got to hear the ENTIRE album. Yes, that’s right, the girls played all 12 songs off of the new album. Some of the most listened to songs include “The Magic”, “Twin Flame” and “Jealous”. Drummer, Alisa, was especially excited to play “Fire in the Hole”, deeming  it as her favorite and explaining to the crowd its basis on sex appeal or as she stated “...rizz if you’re under 25”. 

Fans got to experience some special personable moments with the bands throughout the night, starting with the selection of the night's gold star baby guest. The Aces threw on pink feather boas and scanned the crowd for someone who caught their eye as the best dressed  to come on stage to have a shot of tequila with them. Later in the night, guitarist Katie, took the mic and dove into the past by mentioning the band’s old podcast, Aces Space, where the girls would sit and “spill the tea” about what was going on in their lives. Individuals in the crowd were asked to share some of their own “tea” with the room, leaving some jaws on the floor and us questioning some things. But, as the band said, “what happens in Boston, stays in Boston”. Lastly, everyone was feeling extra special when they played us an unreleased song, “Square One”, scheduled to come out just three days after the show. 

The Aces will continue on the remainder of the tour bringing their infectious sounds, inclusive atmosphere and fun-loving presence to venues all the way to the west coast and beyond! Check out their upcoming show dates HERE. See also the setlist from 11.11 in Boston below!
