After landing the #1 spot on alt radio with their hit song Can’t Slow Down, San Diego’s almost monday quickly gained popularity within the indie-pop community. Like many artists, they started with local gigs and garage jam sessions before breaking onto the charts in 2020 with their debut EP, Don’t Say You’re Ordinary. Just a year later, they followed up with their second EP, Til the End of Time, delivering more feel-good tracks like This Is Growing Up and Live Forever.

Through features on major platforms like CBS, ESPN, and Netflix, as well as tours with artists such as The Driver Era and Beach Weather, the band has amassed over 600 million streams, taking their success to new heights. Lucky for fans, this momentum led to the announcement of their DIVE Tour, which they’re currently on—traveling across the U.S. and bringing their signature West Coast energy with them.

Wednesday, February 5th, that California energy made its way to Boston for a sold-out show at Brighton Music Hall. The last time the band hit the city was back in August 2024, when they opened for AJR on The Maybe Man Tour at TD Garden.

Fans were thrilled to have them back, packing the venue in anticipation of upbeat, sunshine-infused tunes. Lead singer Dawson Daugherty hyped up the crowd with his infectious energy and dance moves, backed by Cole Clisby on guitar and Luke Fabry on bass. They kicked off their set with tracks from their newly released debut album DIVE, including Is It Too Late?, Can’t Slow Down, and Dive.

Midway through the show, they threw it back to some older favorites, including their 2019 track Broken People—a song that resonates with many, emphasizing that we all make mistakes and fall apart sometimes, but we keep pushing forward. The entire venue was jumping—young and old alike—making it clear that almost monday will always have a home in Boston.

Go stream their debut album DIVE now on Apple Music and Spotify! And if you’re feeling extra adventurous, catch them live at Lollapalooza Paris & Berlin, Mad Cool Festival, Pinkpop Festival, and more. Their European & UK headline tour kicks off in March, with support from Dallas-based band Little Image!
